To Kill a Mockingbird
Harper Lee wrote the capturing novel to “Kill a Mockingbird”, with the intention of narrating the time period in Maycomb, Alabama between 1931 to 1935. The story is told by Scout, who shares her story of events in the past. The period of time that Scout talks about is very blue for the Maycomb families, due to the rise of the Great Depression, racism, and segregation. Scout is a member of a poor, white family, and her dad is the lawyer for a colored man - Tom Robinson. As the story progresses, it becomes clear that the setting strongly affects the conflict with innocent Tom Robinson, the prejudice of society, and the general mood of the story.
