Do citizens have the right to refuse to serve in the Armed Forces?

Yes! wouldn't you want to be able to choose? how would you feel if this happened to you? it wouldn't be fair to go unannounced. Citizens should have the right to refuse no matter what! they could get killed serving in the armed forces. It should be our choice not the Goverments. Where would be the freedom in America if we would not be able to make our own choices?

You should have the right to refuse because of religious beliefs. If you don't have the right to refuse where's the freedom in America? Some religions do not let you join the military no matter what. For example Christianity, "Thou shalt not kill.". They can be punished by family members for going against there religion. People take Religions very serious and if you do not follow you could have some bad consequences.

Those people all have a family. There family will probably get mad because there child has to go to the armed forces. They may have a career in something big but have to drop it to go to the army. What would you do if it was you that had to drop your career for the armed forces? what if it was you that had to leave your family even in a hard time? they will force you to go no matter what, it isn't really fair but it can happen.

You tell me, what would you choose? The right to refuse the armed forces or automatically have to go? Citizens should have the right to refuse because of their religious beliefs and because they have a family and career to think of instead of the armed forces. Sometimes when you go to the armed forces and serve alot of years .. And you come back not dead but really old. Some veterans come back paralyzed, no arms, have horrible memories, and sometimes come back and are homeless. Its a estimate 47,725 Veterans that are homeless. It is very sad but true, i wouldn't want that happening to
