Would New England be an asset or Hindrance during the upcoming war with France? New England would most likely be an asset. Based upon the areas of geography and climate, resources, and political and social life, the New England colonies will prove to be an asset in a possible war with France.
Shipbuilding is a wonderful asset because New England can build a ship in one month. Imagine, the normal war with France lasts about five years. If you do the math, then you will realize that New England would have built 60 ships. A Man of War will take two months. 30 in five years. That’s two fleets. Imagine, all of the bombardments, sea battles, and troop movement with 60 ships.
A hindrance about the New England colonies is that they left the Church
