“To kill a mockingbird is a sin because they don’t do nothing but sing...”. The book To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee is a phenomenal book about a trial about a black man raping a white women. This trial is mostly about racism and segregation. Also this book shows the trial and life of the finch family told from Scout a nine year old. In the novel To Kill a Mockingbird Atticus Finch, Tom Robinson, and Boo Radley are all metaphorically portrayed as mockingbirds because it would be a sin to kill them because they did nothing wrong, they just get misjudged.

The first reason is, Tom Robinson is portrayed a mockingbird because he was the victim of this crime because he never attacked and he never fought back, also he never did a wrong deed like that. Tom Robinson had been convicted of this crime but atticus knew he wasn’t guilty because it was borderline racist that he'd be convicted of such a crime.This was just racist because in the 1930’s in the south a black man could be convicted of any crime and be guilty because that was how bad racism was back then in the south. On pg. 275 Mr. Tate says “Bob fell on his knife ” because he knew Boo Radley stabbed him.Since he saved the kids the kids learned how he was a like mockingbird why he acts like he does and lives like he does. Boo just doesn't want a lot of attention.Another reason Boo is portrayed as a mockingbird is he doesn't fight back after rumors are said about him.This shows that Boo will not act out he will just keep doing what he does best.
