Tom Robinson’s trial in To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee made me feel disappointed in society, because he was clearly innocent. “Mr. Tate said, “ Oh yes, that’d make it her right. It was her right eye, Mr. Finch. I remember now, she was bunged up on that side of her face…Mr. Tate blinked again, as if something had suddenly been made plain to him.”(142) From this we now know that Mayella could’ve only been hit by a left handed person.
“Tom Robinson reached around ran his fingers under his left arm and lifted it...As he raised his right hand , the useless one slipped off the bible”(161) This piece of evidence
Demonstrates that Tom Robinson’s left arm is handicapped.
