The Total Gym FIT 2015 Infomercial claims that one machine does it all with regard to cardio, strength, and stretching. The main claim of the Total Gym is that it can replace an entire gym full of equipment. The Infomercial discusses the Total Gym challenge which consists of 14 workouts in 19 days while sticking to a diet plan. The participants in the challenge are 14 people with 14 different goals. According to the participants the Total Gym is easy to use. Chuck Norris displays how the Total Gym helps develop power in the arms and wrists as well as working the abdominals at the same time. In addition, the infomercial makes the claim that the machine offers a suitable endurance workout.
The Total Gym does seem to offer a full body workout. Because a person is able to keep constantly moving during the workout, the Total Gym burns calories as

The components of physical fitness are endurance, flexibility, strength, speed, and body composition. The Total Gym seems to work on the flexibility and strength components the most. The machine, however, does not seem to work on the speed component of physical fitness as a person would use the machine at the speed at which he or she chooses and there is nothing on the machine that measures the speed at which the exercise is performed. It does have the potential to improve endurance if a person were to increase the time of use on the machine by using a clock. In addition, body composition can be improved by the toning features of the machine, however, one may need to incorporate other exercises to sufficiently improve this facet of physical fitness. Thus, in my opinion, the Total Gym is best used by incorporating it into a workout at home to do some mild strength training and toning
