Touching Spirit Bear, T.S.B, and The Devil’s Arithmetic ,D.A, are 2 books that have environments that are dangerous that have some similarities and some differences. Let’s compare them! First the backstory of the books, starting off with T.S.B. T.S.B is about a boy named cole that is on the wrong side of the law. Prision won’t work for him so he is sent to circle justice which is a Native American form of justice , originating in Canada that seeks healing in contrast to the regular punishment ways. Cole then is taken to and Island in Alaska where lots of dangers await. Next is the D.A. A girl named Hannah has a jewish family and she doesn't like it. Plus, her family keeps telling her to remember because her grandpa, Grandpa Will, and her aunt, Aunt Eva, have both been through the holocaust. Hannah does not care about that though so she gets sucked back in time during the holocaust in Nazi,Germany as a girl named Chaya. Along the way of her journey, she gets captured b the nazi’s and put into a concentration camp where the real dangers begin. In these 2 stories …show more content…
Chaya was in one of these concentration camps and it was not pleasant. There was no coming out of the concentration camp only going in. Inside the concentration camp the nazi’s took all of your clothes and belongings away so they would be left with ragged clothes and little resources, then sent to their quarters for work. Prisoners of the camp would only have a little bit of food and had to work all day to survive the dreadful climates. Because of these very bad conditions many prisoners of the camp would either die of sickness or a old age that you could never work. In a prison environment like this the cmap was very guarded only letting nazis in and out. Furthermore, there were electric fences and gaurds everywhere ! If you tried to escape you would be
