The Hero’s Journey is common in many books. Some particular events in the hero’s journey are The Ordeal, The Call To Adventure, and Atonement. In Ben Mikaelsen's novel, “Touching Spirit Bear,” Cole’s journey is about overcoming his anger and forgiving himself and others. Throughout the book, Ben Mikaelsen uses personal experiences and tolerance to help the reader use The Hero’s Journey as a main concept in the novel.
