Toxic political rhetoric is influencing everyone more or less, and has increasingly become a bigger part of politics. It has come along with the fact that we don’t judge as hard, on those who does come with a negative/toxic rhetoric. It possibly effects kids as well as minority groups around the US the most.
The political rhetoric is worse than ever, and I guess most people can relate to blaming Trump for being guilty in this case. Not only does children see bad behaviour, such as how he talks about other people, and what words he uses to describe certain people. It changes kid’s perspective on those people as well. Trump and others like him spewing hate speech, prejudice is reaching new levels. It’s visceral, and scary, and it affects how people live, work and pray. It makes me afraid for my family. It also makes no sense. There are approximately 3.3 million Muslim Americans. After the attack in Orlando, The Times reported that the F.B.I. is investigating 1,000 potential “homegrown violent extremists,” a majority of whom are most likely connected in some way to the Islamic State. If everyone on that list is Muslim American, that is 0.03 percent of the Muslim American population. They’re therefore a minority group who, is less likely to do all the bad stuff people sometimes accuse them for, such as Mr. Donald trump does at times. He yet also manages to get under these groups of peoples skin, and irritating them, but not on purpose I believe, he’s just speaking up about his opinion. It makes these groups feel less welcome and offended at the same time. On the contrary, I believe he is aware that Muslim Americans aren’t the biggest threat, it’s the Mexicans who brings the
