Tracey Brooks always knew what she wanted in life. She always had a plan to reach her goals. Now 47 years old, Tracey Brooks couldn’t be any happier. She’s been a nurse for 21 years, but now works as a clinical documentation specialist. When you first look at her, you can tell she has a stern, but caring personality. Her short but strong frame gives off a caring and protective impression. However, even when you have a plan for your future, it doesn’t always happen like you had planned it to. She started realize that something wasn’t right, so she went to several different doctors until one doctor diagnosed her with a chronic disease called endometriosis. Endometriosis is chronic disease that causes the lining of the womb to grow outside the uterus; it can cause the tissue to tear, but prevents any exit for the blood to leave the body. This eventually leads to internal bleeding in the body causing women to have a less chance to get pregnant or provide a suitable living space for the baby during the growth stages. “It was very painful to have to hear the doctor say that,” explains Tracey with a hint sadness in her voice. “I felt like I lost a part of myself that day.” This would only be one of the many other obstacles that Tracey would have to …show more content…
Tracey emphasizes that “she felt like her life was suddenly moving in slow motion.” The adoption agency told Tracey that it could take months until they found someone ready to be adopted.
