Tragedy Of Stanley And Blanche In A Streetcar Named Desire

Words: 408
Pages: 2

A Street Car Named Desire is a beautiful tragedy about realism, fantasy, deception and past hauntings, and the two characters that practically make this the beautiful tragedy it is, is Blanche and Stanley. Blanche speaks in a way that seems she’s stuck in her own fantasies and not ever wanting to look at the negative in life. Stanley, on the other hand, speaks as if life has given him a tough hand to deal and understands the reality of life. The line is blurred between realism and fantasy in A Street Car Named Desire, with contradicting characters such as Blanche and Stanley, and just by the way they talk gives the reader an idea on their outlook on life. Blanche is an extreme tragic figure. She’s out of place both place and personally.
