While reading Now I walk into the Wild, one may see how this text defined transcendentalism. I often think of transcendentalism being defined as a theory that someone doesn’t need or want anything from others and does not live for anyone but themselves, in other words they do not need to do anything to fit in, they always remain true to their innermost roots and do not fall victim to the false image society portrays, they long for ultimate freedom from the outside world.
