The red shown on the Transformer connotes danger, war and blood as well as determination. The darkness of the red shows rage and anger with strength and power; this also gives us the impression that he is something to fear as he is a strong and powerful character.
There is a lot of black contained within the poster; this colour indicates power, death, evil, mystery. This also creates a sense of enigma from the aggressive colour scheme that has a negative connotation which contrasts well with some of the bright colours that are also used.
Another way in which the target audience are drawn in is through the use of star which is Shia LaBeouf, this is because it draws in many existing fans that would want to see the film with him in. As Shia LaBeouf is in the central foreground of the poster, this shows his high importance in the film and may also be a USP for the film.
