What is the definition of health behavior? Medical-dictionary defines it as "a combination of knowledge, practices, and attitudes that together contribute to motivate the actions we take regarding health." Breaking a habit that you enjoy is difficult such as eating a lot of fast food. I use to identify myself as someone who procrastinates often, when my friends would go to the gym, I would not join them and rather stay home, but when I did want to go the gym, I would not have allowed enough time to prepare and there would be something stopping me from going when I have a desire to go such as maybe having to finish an essay for a class, or was demanded to take care of one of my siblings. I would improve this health behavior because due to the fact that I do not have the opportunity to go to the gym all the time I should now wake up earlier than I do, so I could be able to go on a jog on days I have class at 8am lectures. So I could get some sort of exercise into my body. NCBI explains that the transtheoretical model "posits that health behavior change involves progressing through six stages of change: precontemplation, contemplation, preparation, action, maintenance, and termination." The transtheoretical stage I'm now in would be preparation. Wikipedia defies the stage preparation as "People who are intending to take action in the immediate future, and may begin taking small steps toward behavior change." I know I'm now in this stage because I have already planned the time I would rise from my bed and go for my jog every day in the morning. I already set the time in which I would be able to get up and try to see myself out the doors. The process I go through to change my health behavior is I choose a time that might be able to wake up set it on my alarm, and try to wake up the next day at that time, if I cannot I change the time extra 30 minutes or an hour, nothing more that affects the time I would have to go on the road going to school to get there on
