Imagine you are playing your favorite sport. Basketball , soccer, football, anything. All of a sudden you have a ball hit your head. You blackout and when you wake up the doctor tells you that you have permanent brain damage. You don't think the same, you can't play sports anymore, you can't go to school for a while. Your whole life is ruined. That is the reality in many sports injuries. Even if they aren't as severe they can still cause horrible injuries. Sports aren't worth the risk of injuries. According to Stanford university “ More than 3.5 million children ages 14 and younger get hurt annually playing sports or participating in recreational activities.” 3.5 million people per year and probably more. Sports and recreational activities contribute to about 21 percent of all traumatic brain injuries among American children and adolescents.” CDC.gov states that 1.345 million brain injuries occur per year in America only. 21% is a very large amount of people. These injuries can not only take time off of school and allow children to fall behind, but they can cause learning disabilities as well as physical disabilities that will effect someone for the rest of their life. This shows sports are not worth the risk of injuries. Although brain injuries are very serious can occur very often in sports, even more frequently than that, fractures, breaks, Sprains, and torn muscles occur. These may not have as big of an effect but they occur very often. These can permanently damage muscles and bones. According to Stanford medical 79% of the sports related injuries per year, consist of broken bones , fractures and sprains. Not only does this take you out of sports, it can permanently damage the muscles and bones you need for the rest of your
