This chapter is almost identical to Junger’s Ted talk “Our Lonely Society Makes It Hard to Come Home from War.” In the book Tribe written by Sebastian hunger in the chapter “In Better Safety I Awake” it talks about PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) and how it has affected people throughout our history. In this chapter Junger describes the struggles of veterans with “post-Vietnam syndrome” many were suffering from the effects of war. (Tribe, Sebastian Junger page 86) Social resilience is defined as identified resource sharing and egalitarian wealth distribution as a major components of a society's ability to recover from hardship. (Tribe, Sebastian Junger page 102) Social resilience is described as the ability to recover from a hardship.
