Title
Constitution of the Tri-M Music Honor Society of Mercer Island High School

Mission
We, the students, for the promotion of good government, good sportsmanship, student activities, musical community outreach, and the general welfare of the students of Mercer Island High School, establish this Constitution of the MIHS Tri-M Music Honor Society.

Article 1. Name of Organization
Section A. It is resolved that the name of this organization shall be the MIHS Tri-M Music Honor Society (of Mercer Island High School).

The principal of the school shall assign an impartial faculty committee of three or more to review the appeal. The same rules that would be used for a disciplinary appeal in the school district shall apply.

Section C. Active membership in MIHS Tri-M Music Honor Society is maintained by the rules specified in Section B, Subsection 4, and at least 10 service hours per semester. A student may not submit the acquired service hours more than once. They may not be submitted for any other organizations/clubs other than Tri-M Music Honor Society.
Section D. Alumni membership – Upon graduation, active members shall become alumni members. Alumni members shall have no voice or vote in chapter affairs.
Section E. Honorary membership – The chapter advisor may award honorary umemberships in recognition of achievement and/or outstanding service rendered to the chapter in keeping with the purpose of the Tri-M Music Honor Society. Honorary membership may be awarded to guest clinicians, school officials, principals, teachers, Tri-M advisors, adults, or students with disabilities who are unable to fully meet the active member criteria. Other students are not eligible for honorary membership. Honorary members have no voice or vote in chapter
