Trinity Community Hospital demand for Orthopedic, cancer and cardiovascular services is high. The demand for orthopedic services is expected to grow rapidly in the next 5 years according to Health needs assessment. The study revealed that orthopedic cases are expected to climb by 46% while the Inpatient joint and spine procedure will increase by 30% while outpatient procedure are expected to increase by $350% (Trinity Community Hospital, n.d.).
As the demand for orthopedic rises due to more people is the community are getting older, Trinity Community Hospital is not prepared. There are few orthopedic surgeon that maintain hospital privileges at Trinity hospital. However there are currently well experience local orthopedic surgeon groups wanting to join the hospital team. Trinity has been referring patients to the other two hospitals in the area with dedicated orthopedic centers. According to the five year plan Trinity Community Hospital wants to develop their own orthopedic program to compete.

If this service line is introduced at Trinity Community Hospital many patients will want to try it because pain is something patient try to avoid. It will also reduce the recovery time, shorter hospitalization, reduce pain and discomfort and minimal scarring. This service will increase the number of physician wanting to join the hospital and it can generate patient self- referrals.
