World War 1 started August 1, 1914 and ended November 11, 1918. In World War . There were two alliances, the Triple Alliance and the Triple Entente. The Triple Alliance consisted of Germany, Italy, and Austria-Hungary, and the Triple Entente consisted of Great Britain, Russia, and France. These alliances experienced territorial disputes and other conflicts which caused them to hate each other and seek revenge. These alliances would do anything especially go to war to protect their power. There were many battles in World War 1, as many as forty. During the Siege of Antwerp the Germans, and Belgians were fighting. The German king William the 2nd wanted to pass through Belgium to get to France and King Albert the 1st of Belgium did not want
