All throughout the world anxiety disorder are the common mental illness in the United States. In the following TV show Monk, played by actor Tony Shalhoub takes on the role as a detective who has Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. The television show start from Monk advocates OCD, a type of anxiety disorder which started out as a child and shortly after growing up increased with the murder of his wife. The hit series Monk, which contains a number of following of compulsions, irrational beliefs and Monk dealing with OCD and continuing of phobias.
Irrational Belief
Monk, whom suffers from obsessive compulsive disorder, along with additional phobias all in which strengthened after the murder of his wife Trudy, which resulted in him being fired from the department. Throughout the series Monk displays a number of compulsions and obsessions. He worries extremely about dirt and germs, along with worried about symmetry order and cleanliness and arranging this in order. Monk washes and cleans compulsively, and performs a different number of events in an exact order or repeats until they are done perfectly. Tony Shalhoub character obsessive traits were displayed in a way relating to other healthy impulses individuals may have, for example the desire to move an object. The following compulsions manifested the characters behaviors in the sense of who he was before his wife’s death leading up to solving the crime. Monk throughout the series displayed OCD, with a frustration an example for when Monk exchanges with his therapist of chronic obsessive compulsive disorder.
