What It’s Like to Be a Tween Nowadays

Although some adults think that being a tween is a breeze, it’s actually harder than they think. Tweens nowadays have it the hardest, because of social media’s influence and social standards. They also
Tweens are very indecisive and are in the phase of figuring out what they like and what they don’t. They will switch to different hobby just like that with no hesitation or regrets. So they can like sports more for a while and then suddenly decide they like music better. Adults should try to patient with them’ because eventually they will stick to one or two things.
In the modern days kids are developing quicker, meaning that tweens will probably be acting like they are 15. Tweens care a lot about how adults are acting and always try to imitate and copy them. Most tweens are …show more content…
We are expected to dress a certain way and act a certain way to fit in with the others. A survey of girls between the ages of 8 to 18 years old showed that most girls are scared of being teased for being different than they are afraid of a terrorist attack or a natural disaster.
A lot of tweens are victims of peer pressure and are doing things that they wouldn’t do if not for their peers telling them to do so. Adults should not always judge a tween for who they seem to be or how they act in front of their friends, but they should try to get them alone to know how they really are.
A lot of tweens are bullied and some may not like to admit they are. Adults should be on the watch for bullies and should try to help. Some tweens are afraid, ashamed, or even shy to ask for help.
Tweens are very confusing. They like to keep to themselves and would most likely rather talk to their friends and peers then to their parents and to adults.
