Tybalt Soliloquy
TYBALT: “Boy, this shall not excuse the injuries that thou hast done me, therefore turn and draw.” (3.1.61-62) Why does he not fight me? Does he mock me? That villain Romeo and his accomplice Mercutio is trying to make a fool of me. Romeo is a villain for damaging my family’s honour, he shall pay with his blood. But… Then again I have the death penalty over my head and I will surely pay with my blood if I do this righteous deed. However, if I don’t fight them I will surely be made a fool of in front of this crowd. I feel as if the heavens above are forcing my hand to start this duel, as if they care not about my life.
