Tyler Oakley is a comedic and inspirational internet personality successfully creating YouTube videos while working on his goal of making people smile. He was born March 22nd 1989 and lived with his 12 siblings later on due to his parents splitting up when he was a young boy. At the age of 10, he moved to a new town and got involved with his schools choir and drama club which started his love of being on stage and center of attention. He came out as a homosexual to his peers in 2003, at the age of 14, which was very scary, since being different, was seen as a bad thing in society. He started his YouTube channel in 2007; recently Tyler started campaigning with The Trevor Project, an organization that helps troubled young lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT). He has 12 siblings together with his step sisters, step brothers, half brothers, half sisters and in-laws. When he started elementary school he needed to get glasses so being the unique individual he is, he got bright purple round frame glasses that were too big for him which led to him getting bullied by the other children. When he was 10 he moved to a new town. He loved “the arts” so much that he joined the schools choir and drama club. That’s where he met his best friend, Dolan, who was very accepting of Tyler’s personality. He thought this friendship was very special even though he had a crush on Dolan.
