The diverse story of Louis "Louie" Zamperini is a novel called Unbroken written by Laura Hillenbrand and published in 2010. The novel is accompanied by the movie "Unbroken" (2014), directed by Angelina Jolie. Despite the fact both viewers and readers are entertained by both mediums, the novel Unbroken gives a clear cut detail of the strength found in the main character Louie. The novel and movie are both great, but reading or watching either mediums will give you a feeling of remorse. The remorse feeling is for Louie and what he is going through. The mediums give you an insight of what it is like to be a prisoner of war during World War II. Pete pushes Louie to keep going when life comes to a hardships. Pete would coach Louie for days upon days showing him there will be an achievement after all the hard work pays off. Pete also keeps faith in Louie by turning his life around and not giving up. The novel and movie have numerous similarities, but the book contains a tremendous difference. The difference pertains to Louie Zamperini and his character trait strength. Unbroken defines Louie's strength in extreme detail and gives the reader the same feelings as Louie. While, "Unbroken" shows his strength and gives little to no emotion. The movie does not give a "wow" effect such as, "Whoa, he really has a lot of strength. His strength is his motivation". In Unbroken the display of Louie's strength at Berlin in the 1936 Olympics, gives the audience the true difference between the two mediums. On the road to the Olympics, Pete is always the one to coach Louie.
