Beeeeeep! That was the last bell of the school year which meant that it was summer vacation. In four months I would turn sixteen which meant I needed to be intelligent so I could buy a car, so I worked with my dad during the summer to make some money. By working I was able to make money and be able to buy a car, which shows that I was being intelligent. Intelligent is making smart choices which leads to a good future. The characters from Uncle Basil from “You Can’t Take It With You” and Jesse from “Sway” are intelligent because they both know how to get money. One reason Jesse is intelligent is because he knows how to make money. “But Ken hiring me to get him a girl just didn’t make any sense and it wasn’t exactly a job I wanted. Still, business is business and I’m not in the habit of turning down money” (Spears 19). This means that Jesse does favors for anyone but charges them money in return. “ ‘The labs you handed over last week were the sloppiest I’ve seen from you,” I said. ‘I couldn’t even charge full price for them’ ” (Spears 132). This means that Jesse was suppose to make Bridget like Ken but accidentally made her like him instead. As a result, Uncle Basil acted intelligent while Jesse did not.
