The novel, Uncle Tom’s Cabin (also known as Life Among the Lowly), by Harriet Beecher Stowe, is the ultimate story about slavery in the 1800s (more specifically 1850s). It is a nonfiction book about the struggles of the protagonist, Uncle Tom, as well as the other slaves of the time period. The book is also heavily oriented around Christianity and keeping your faith in the worst of times. The book was officially released in 1852 and quickly became a bestseller. To this day, people still know and read all about Uncle Tom’s Cabin, and the deep message about slavery that it shares with us all.
