Underfunded School Analysis

I. Synopsis
Malcolm Adekambi, Diggy, and Jib live in a crime ridden neighborhood called “the bottoms” (Inglewood, California), they go to an underfunded school where teachers don’t really want to teach and students don’t really want to learn. Malcolm, Diggy, and Jib are the geeks of the school who want to go to college, Malcolm's dream college is Harvard. Dom the neighborhood drug dealer stops Malcolm on his way home, and tells him to go tell Nakia the girl down the street that there is a birthday party happening and he wants her to come. When Malcolm goes to tell her this Nakia says that she will only go if he goes, since she is working on her GED and would like to stay out of as much trouble as possible. Even though Malcolm is unsure of going to a drug dealers birthday party Diggy and Jib convince him to go, and they even tag along.They have some trouble getting past security, but after they get in they start having a lot of fun little do they know that in the back Dom and his crew are

In the very beginning Malcolm's college advisor says that since he lives in Inglewood and goes to an underfunded school he will never get into Harvard. When Malcolm goes to see Austin Jacoby he is told that he has to sell all the Molly or he will kill all his friends and family and nobody will ever believe him if he tries to tell the cops it won’t matter because nobody will believe a poor black kid from Inglewood over a Harvard Alumni. Later in the film we meet Will who has been buying, selling, and doing drugs for longer than anyone can remember, but he has been privileged for a very long time so his dad could just pay his way through school and even when he was failing his classes he just wiped the database and everything is fine. After we meet Will we see how people with very similar skills have very different obstacles to go
