Leaving home wasn’t the hardest thing for Africans, but settling here in Canada, a whole new place, was the most challenging hardship they faced.
Underground Railway Just imagine one railroad leading to a path of freedom. Just a couple of weeks traveling on foot and freedom is there. The Underground railroad was bunch of routes built out of conduc- tors, safe houses, rivers, trails, and secret routes, which all came down at the end to freedom. Enslaved africans, followed the north star between the years of 1840 and 1885, to get to anti racism states and Canada. The actual Underground railroad is not underground or a railroad, the name was in fact a codeword formed by the organization. There were indeed several fam-
