The precious prize of love will persevere. This is the path to understanding Anne Bradstreet’s poem, “To My Dear and Loving Husband.” In a brief poem, their marriage can be shown through material and spiritual love.
The love between the husband and wife is greater than any material object. It is evident in this poem that Anne Bradstreet loves her husband more than “all the riches that the East doth hold.” (line 6) Her love is measured in quantity rather than in quantity because as said in line 5, she “prizes thy love more than whole Mines of gold” (5).
