Nashville State offers a high quality, technical education as you prepare to enter the workforce, or gives you a strong foundation as you plan to move on to a four-year school. We’re affordable, we give you the personal touch with small classes, and we’re conveniently located close to home.
Nashville State may be one of my choices. Nashville State can provide associates degrees to prepare students for the workforce. Nashville State Community College has been open since 1970 and has been a vital part of Nashville. Initially named Nashville State Technical Institute, the college had 398 students, and offered only five Associate’s degree programs. As a community college, Nashville State offers the Associate of Applied Science technical and career degrees, and the Associate of Arts, the Associate of Science, and the Associate of Science in Teaching transfer degrees.
The mission of Nashville State Community College is to provide comprehensive educational programs and partnerships, exemplary services, an accessible, progressive learning environment, and responsible leadership to improve the quality of life for the community it serves. The college serves a broad geographic area comprised of Davidson, Cheatham, Dickson, Houston, Humphreys, Montgomery, and Stewart Counties, and the Upper Cumberland region. Nashville State offers associate degrees and certificates that prepare students to think and perform well whether entering the workforce or transferring to a university upon graduation (www.nscc.edu).
