A – Discuss the Effect on Practitioners of Meeting the Care Needs of Children

There are both positive and negative effects when you are a practitioner, a positive effect for example, is being able to teach the children new things like how to do things properly, the hazards that surround the children on a daily basis and it is good to know that you are the one that taught them these things. Another positive things that comes with being a practitioner is helping the children to learn new skills which is similar to teaching them new things as everything you teach a child they get a skill out of it, but it feels good to help children gain some skills that could help them in later life.

Also building relationships with children is a positive thing when being a practitioner because if you have a good relationship with the children and they have something on their minds that could be upsetting them or worrying them then they will be able to come to you to talk about the problem and it is good to know that a child trusts you enough to tell you what is bothering them.

Another positive thing that comes with being a practitioner is watching how the children develop as it is rewarding when you are watching them develop and you know that you have helped them to develop and that they are able to do all the stuff you have taught them to do. Also playing with the children is a positive thing because you get to see the children enjoying themselves and getting along with the other children and building relationships with them, also if you go to work in a bad mood and then you start playing with the children it could help to lift your mood.

As well as there being positive reasons for being a practitioner there are also some negative effects, such as, it is easier to get ill when being around children all the time as children are less immune when it comes to getting an illness, also children are more likely to get head lice as they are surrounded by other children all the time and their heads go near each other, so that means when you get close to the children you could get head lice as well.

Another negative is needing to think of different activities to do all the time because you can’t keep doing the same activities all the time as the children won’t be learning anything new if you don’t change the type of activities they do, so you have to try and think of lots of new ideas for the children to do and some of the activities that you do may require some resources that you don’t have so
