Academic Reflection Paper

There are several changes I could make to improve my overall health and wellbeing, but the two areas I am going to work on at this time are hydration, fruits and vegetables.
The first area I’m going to improve is hydration. I drink a lot of soda and coffee very often. However, I don’t drink enough water every day and I do not enjoy drinking tea. Hydration is important for a lot of reasons that range from muscle and joint health to circulation to digestion to weight loss. I am going to start drinking at least 8 ounces of water a day this is my goal.
Secondly, I am going to work on eating more fruit and vegetables. My goal is to eat at least 2 servings of fruit and vegetables each day. I would actually say that I enjoy eating vegetables more than I do fruit but there is only certain stuff that I will eat. While this doesn’t meet dietary standards, I feel this is a realistic goal to start with for me. Fruits and vegetables offer healthy vitamins, nutrients, and fiber to my diet.
Making these two small changes will positively influence my health and wellbeing.

Exercise/move every day. It’s the “every day” part of that statement that matters, not how much, or what you do. Once you start allowing “off” days….you allow the “off” days to grow. And, really, exercise should just be about moving. It should be part of life every day.
I’m usually more active during the day than night. I walk everyday instead of driving to my little cousin school I walk to go get her. We live on the 3rd floor of an apartment so I’m walking stairs a lot my ideal daily activity would be about an hour a day.
Sometimes when I’m just stuck in the house all day I just don’t sit and watch TV or eat

There has been some people that has either been robbed, threatened, or assaulted in my complex that’s why I just stay out the way and stay to myself and take precaution when it needs to be taking never be afraid to call 911 I know sometimes they can be slow but still call them for your safety if you see something that might look suspicious call 911 someone can be in danger and may need your help. Sometimes when I’m just stuck in the house all day I just don’t sit and watch TV or eat and sleep ill find things to make myself active maybe clean the house, walk down the stairs to do laundry, or even just stretch in the house.
