Tesco PLC is a British multination grocery and general merchandise retailer which is the third largest retailer in the world measured by profits and second largest retailer in the world measured by revenues. It has stores in 12 countries across Asia and Europe and is the grocery market leader in the UK. Jack Cohen founded Tesco in 1919 as a group of market stalls. Tesco dominates the UK food and grocery market as it accounts for almost a third of all grocery sales. Tesco has a extensive range of products to encounter customer needs; besides selling groceries they also have other products such as electronic devices, cosmetics, DVD’s to purchase or rent, a wide variety of books, stationary and flowers. They also offer services such as car, life, home insurances and mobiles on contract or on pay as you go, mortgages and loans. The purposes of the organisation Tesco is to mainly sell products and gain profit by offering customers the best value for their money and give the most competitive prices. Tesco is committed to meet the needs of customers by constantly seeking, and acting on their opinions regarding innovation, product quality, choice, store facilities and service. Additionally, Tesco aims to provide shareholders with progressive returns on their investment by improving profitability thought investment in efficient stores and distribution depots, in productivity improvements and in new technology. Another purpose of Tesco is that they work closely with suppliers to build long term business relationships based on strict quality and price criteria. Tesco commits to participate in the formulation of national food industry policies on key issues such as health, nutrition, hygiene, safety and animal welfare. Lastly Tesco commits to support the well being of the community and the protection of the environment. Generally with their commitments and aims, this allows Tesco to attempt to make a significant sums of profit and develop for their organisation to survive. Moreover, shareholders own the organisation due to the fact that it is a Public Limited Company (PLC) therefore they started as a private limited company before becoming a Public Limited Company to raise capital and as a result this helps the organisation to magnify and progress.

Cancer research UK is a cancer research and awareness charity in the United Kingdom in which was formed on the 4th of February 2002 by the merger of the Cancer Research Campaign and the Imperial Cancer Research Fund. Its purpose is to reduce the number of deaths from cancer. They are the world’s largest charitable independent cancer research organisation that conducts research into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the disease.
