Disability mayu affect development in a number of ways. Depending on the pupils' needs, it may cause a delay in a particular aspect of their development , for example, a physical disability may affect their social skills if they become more withdrawn or their behaviour if they become frustrated. Not having correct facilities or resources can obstruct a child's/young person's development too as they may not be working to their full potential, through no fault of their own. If a child/ young person faces possible restrictions from having a disability(I.e. if a child/ young person is unable to use certain parts of his/her body, or have trouble communicating) then they may not be able to deveop fully in those areas. Children with a disability, either mental, may find it harder to learn than other children of the same age and may need support, such as a different way of teaching, help from an adult or use of certain specialised or adapted equipment, such as a computer or writing desk. A child with disabilities may also miss a lot of school if they need to attend regular medical appointments and this can also affect their learning at school and their sense of belonging and self-esteem. devepoment may also be affected by the attitudes of others e.g if we assume that a disabled person will not be able to acheive and do not allow them the opprotunity to take part, we are restricing their deveopment in all areas. Socila skills may also be affected as they become more withdrawn or it may affect their behaviour if they become frustrated. It may also affect their social development as it may be harder for them to form freindships due to stigma and stereotyping. It may be because of the child's young person's own cultural beleifs and the way they were raised, they may not have been used to socialising with other children/ young people with a disablity- so have so
