The Industrial Revolution begun in Great Britain in the 1750s. It soon spread to the United States and other parts of Europe, and later to the rest of the whole world. In this essay I will discuss why the Industrial Revolution began in Great Britain. I will use three documents and outside information to discuss this topic. The Industrial Revolution begun in Great Britain because, Great Britain had lot of natural resources which were vital Industrial Revolution. According to the map in document one Great Britain had Coal, Iron, Wool, Cotton, and Led which were vital to the Industrial Revolution. Coal supplies the energy to run machines and iron ore is used to built machines, tools, and buildings. Great Britain’s geography also helped start the Industrial Revolution. According to document two the country had lots of seas and harbors for trade. No part of the country is farther that seventy miles away from the sea. Great Britain had many natural harbors and rivers for trade and shipping. It had good road and many canals for cheap transport of raw materials and finished goods to and from factories. As an island the country was protected from invasion. And the damp climate was good for textile production because it helped to keep the fibers in the material soft and easy to work with.
