The objective of this lab was to find out the four unknown carbohydrates. We first did the Benedict's test we had to put the three different types of saccharides in a test tube which were monosaccharide, disaccharide and polysaccharide. We had to heat them up in hate water, we observed it and only the fourth unknown carbohydrate changed colour with was orange. The first, second and third stayed blue, and the fourth one changed to orange indicating that it was a monosaccharide. After that we did the Iodine test we put it into all three of the tubes and they changed colours.
