Forbes Magazine as the 22nd Most Powerful Woman in the World was not achievement that was accomplished overnight. Her strong will, eagerness to succeed at everything she embarked on is the reason I chose to highlight this charismatic, brilliant woman. Program Area and Intended Career Field Leading and communicating with people effectively have always been something that came naturally. People have always sought advice or came to me to help solve their problems. Mutitasking in a natural strong point for me so these were some of the strengths I used to find a suitable career choice. A degree in Human Resource
Management would allow me to fully develop and maximize these natural skills to lead me to success. The Human Resource Manager’s main job is to effectively communicate tasks, ideas, as well as juggling multiple tasks at one time. It is the ideal career choice for me because of the my eager nack to learn, military disciplined, high paced learning personality. It requires constant learning,

delegating multiple task and responsibilities, and completing tasks in a timely manner. Perfect for the multi tasker like myself. March, 2018 is when I plan to finish my Business Degree in Human
Resource Management. Skills needed to excel and be proficient in this chosen field include: ● Organization
● MultiTasking
● Negotiation
● Communication
● Being Discreet and Ethical
● Ability to Dually Focus
● Conflict Management & Problem Solving (Steven Bruce 2006) “The most important skill that a Human Resource Manager must possess is the ability to communicate with people effectively.” (Occupational Outlook
Handbook). Human Resource Managers must be able to get along with people of all levels of the company and be adept at explaining and understanding the strategy of the organization. Characteristic of Effective Leadership If you were to google the word “leader” you would get more than 300 million hits. It doesn’t help to turn to wikipedia either, right off the bat there are more than 11 different types of leadership styles named. From bureaucratic to transformational; all the way down to laissezfaire. In the field of effective leadership there are as many opinions as the are leaders (David Olrich 11/06/2004). Effective leadership is much more than giving assignments and directions. It requires vision, collaboration, planning and practice. And those characteristics take time and effort. If you aren’t a “born” leader, be prepared for a serious commitment to honing your leadership skills. (Hill, July 14, 2009)
