Upton Sinclair, a writer, a novelist, and an activist. He was born on September 20, 1878, in Baltimore, Maryland. His parents where Upton Beall Sinclair and Priscilla Harden. Not much is known about Upton Sinclair’s early childhood. Except that he had a passion for reading and writing even at a young age. He attended the City College of New York and Columbia University. While there his passion for reading and writing grew. He wrote articles for magazines and dime novels to help pay for the tuition at the colleges. In October 1902, at the age of 23, Sinclair married Meta Fuller. Even after his marriage, he still continued publishing works, with greater influence. In 1904 the editor of the Girard, in Kansas, reached out to Sinclair
