To think, our first event was last year, 4/10/13 –all 9th graders, families and college partners… five months ago! The kind of academic success and working connections we’ve been able to make in such a short time (WOW, ONLY FIVE MONTHS) speaks high volumes to the power of good teaching, scholar-first activities and lessons, strong academic partners, quality homework help, scholar and staff empowerment, good role models and mentors, and most importantly, GREAT SCHOLARS! There are times when I’m working late or in need of a good laugh, and I think back to something one of the scholars have done or said that really brightens my day. I feel honored and fortunate to be experiencing such a life changing opportunity with each of you. Every single one of you are important, great and genius in this world, and I look forward to the direction you take in your future academic and career lives.
