Every year the US Customs and Border Protection lets thousands of Illegal contraband and Illegal aliens through the border causing many Americans to be exposed to criminals and drugs, making it more difficult for the Drug Enforcement Agency to fight the drug war that is an epidemic that is spreading throughout the United States today. The U.S government needs to strengthen our border with Mexico to be able to secure the country as a whole. The U.S Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) had many failures throughout the years to stop firearms from being sent to Mexico. The ATF agents set up a firearms trafficking program where they monitored all their legal sales to those people that are suspected of delivering firearms to the Mexican Cartels. The down side of this operation is that the ATF had no effective ways to keep track of the Firearms because the US had not informed the Mexican government of its firearms trafficking program, causing the ATF to not have any cooperation with Mexican officials to stop the firearms from falling into the Mexican cartels. This will help the cartels to gain more power and allowing them to smuggle even more drugs and weapons through the U.S and Mexico border, making it more dangerous for both the Central and Border Patrol and U.S citizens. Since 2004 there are more than 11.3 million unauthorized illegal aliens living in the United States and as the result of illegal immigration the United States is recently facing a new issue, thousands of unaccompanied minors crossing the border, which tests the security of the United States border and so far the CBP is not effectively doing their jobs. One expert even said they are willing to scarf ice a large group of illegal in order to get contraband goods. “Breitbart’s Texas bureau chief Brandon Darby “ignited a national firestorm,” the network claimed proudly, when he released a set of exclusive photos of overcrowded detention facilities for child detainees” (Bill Moyers). Causing many Americans to question the CBP in how they are treating and
