“An organization’s reputation is critical to their success (in almost every case). A smart CEO and her board pay attention to the organization’s reputation and take care to nurture, protect and grow it” (Marks, 2014). Information is very critical part of any modern company and is needed to run them competently. One could it in another way that without an information system, companies would have an assured downfall. Information is required to regulate the repetitious operations appropriately and in an efficient manner. From making decisions to employing them, information is needed at every step. The significance of information and its management to groups are irrefutably vital. Companies that can control information successfully are also prosperous in other aspects of their business. Frequently information is seen as data that is accurate, organized for a specific purpose and presented in a relevant and meaningful way. Information is what helps to a rise in comprehension and drop in indecision. Information is considered pertinent since it can affect the conduct, choices, as well as their consequences. Suppose a CFO received information that his company’s net profit had fallen within the last quarter they could use this information to make a decision in regards to the financial spending of the new quarter. If a single piece of information does not affect you, or bring about change, this should be considered as data.
Robbins once said “The way we communicate with others and with ourselves ultimately determines the quality of our lives” (p.19). In the current situation, any business structure should have an effective and efficient information system for interconnecting with various departments and employees within the company. There are two kinds of an information structure run an organization with, formal and informal. Formal information structure can be used for downward and upward communication within the company but, not all the information or communication flows through the formal communication system. The informal information structure is used as communication instrument by peers who communicate actively and or on a regular basis with one another. Today in most companies there are internal instant messing systems that can be used for both informal and formal communication. These systems allow for information to be dispersed around the organization faster and more efficiently. Communication is significant for a business to be prosperous, and it offers a solid foundation that is needed to build a concrete business procedure. One other very significant part of communications within a company is the course in which information will ultimately produce results be it progressive or undesirable. It is vital that in all companies that there is a detailed and efficient flow of information. This continual exchange of information is what keeps the company afloat. The moment that the information stream is broken can cause a delay in other processes within the company.
“Privacy protects us from abuses by those in power, even if we're doing nothing wrong at the time of surveillance.” (Schneier, 2006, para. 3). Information flow has diverse direction and must be secured in all ways, with gaps in security of information limitless
