Imagery/Language of Dante’s Inferno In the story Dante’s Inferno the author of the story uses many different literary devices in the book. One example of a literary device in the book would be symbolism. The author uses it at many different points of the book, where at one point in the book it shows “ mantled in rays of that bright planet that shows the road to everyone, whatever our journey”(Dante 3.14-15).
