When I was 14 my church, which consisted of elderly people and only four children, held a meeting one Sunday and asked everyone to think of a way to reach out to bring in more of the younger generation. Remembering the impact Vacation Bible School (VBS) had on me in my childhood, I began to wonder what kind of impact I could have on children of my community by hosting a VBS at my church. A few weeks later, our church had another meeting during which I stood up to present my idea and was given the approval to have a VBS.
