Childhood vaccinations have become a big concern to parents and people around the world today. Mother Lisa Estall shared her recent visit to the doctors at parents.com about her child Summer as she recieved her vaccines. Lias explained "She was her usual happy self after being examined by the doctor, but then we were called into a room where two nurses were both holding long needles. They told me to lay Summer on the table, pull her pants down, and pin down her arms. Of course, she started to scream, and it felt like I was preparing her for torture. By the time the nurses got the Band-Aids on, Summer seemed to be okay -- but I was a wreck." The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention points out that there has been a decrease in the rates of diseases. Most of the diseases that were a scare in the earlier years are now clear from our country today. Even though some diseases are not heard of contracting today in our country there is still a risk of it coming about and those who do not get vaccinated are at that risk (CDC). The CDC goes on to state that if a person who is not vaccinated gets a disease he or she can spread it to an other who is not immune in the community. But if a person who is not vaccinated still and gets a disease thoses who are vaccinated will not have the chance of ever getting that diseases. If the community continues to get vaccinated the less chance there is for theses viruses and diseases to spread among others.
