I believe that Velázquez was trying to portray the Princesses workers. He tried to show people that view his work the maids of the princess work hard as well as good to make the princess look good. That´s why he named the artwork about the maids. He made the queen the same size as the maids unlike Picasso´s artwork. Velázquez was trying to just show the workers and possible have people give more respect to the that work for her.

Picasso was trying to show how much more important the princess was than her maids. He was trying to imply how much power she had over the workers. Picasso had a abstract style of painting. He had so many different colors but i was able to portray the Princess and her workers. He made her so much bigger, to show importance of the princess and her workers. Picasso even named The painting las meninas like Velazques, He just made them be more abstract and very odd to the eye. I just hate how he made the princess much bigger than the worker. I mean you named the painting after the worker SO MAKE HE OR SHE BIGGER SO WE CAN SEE!!!

They both painted the princess and picasso just did very abstractly, he had many colors and shapes. Velazquez made his realistic and beautiful. I enjoyed Velazquez's a lot more, His was realistic and nice. He didn’t portray the princess as more important. He made them the same size unlike picasso. He made the princess much larger to show how much more important she was. Even though velazques was working for the kind and not for fun persae as Picasso, he did a much better job in my opinion. Like why have so many different shapes and colors. You can barely recognize the princess it the artwork. It somewhat makes me angry. I young child could make half the work he did in a school art
