Educated individuals have the power to guide others into the path of freedom and equality, while also creating change for those blinded by ignorance. My country; Venezuela, has been ruled by an oppressive, regressive, and corrupt government for the last 19 years. As a consequence, Venezuela is facing its worst economic crisis in history, food shortages are increasing, crime rates are skyrocketing, and inflation reached a record high in 2016. I consider myself part of the generation that must put an end to this, not through violence, but through education and determination. My country needs educated and prepared leaders to guide the unschooled and poor, which make up the majority of the population.
