In the case of Vernonia School District 47J v. Acton manages one high school and three elementary schools, they said to be high school student athletes were drug users and they also found out that those athletes were the leaders of the drugs. The district court administrators were concerned due to the fact that drug use increased the risk of sports related injury. The districts football and wrestling coach saw that a bad injury that felt into a lot of pain by a wrestler and also by the football player’s not doing so well from their safety procedures, as a result they thought that they were effected of drug use. From then on the district of Oregon held a meeting and bought parents in to discuss the Student Athlete Drug Policy which distributed random urine drug test only to student athletes in the school and so did the school board approved. Also that all students follow some rights when there at school, but the athletes have lesser rights. So the reasonableness of a search at school is judged by balancing the intrusion on the fourth amendment interests against of all governmental interests. In all, students would have a less expectation of privacy when they enter school grounds. Furthermore, they allowed high school athlete’s drug testing to run a healthy and safe learning environment was reasonable as well to where they took it to the courts.
