What does it mean to be a patriot? I think what makes a patriot is not necessarily just fighting for your country but how much you believe in it. After reading this story, “Veterans Day: Never Forget Their Duty”, a lot of the passages give clear examples of being a patriot and what patriotism truly means and how to follow it. Everyone living in our country should be honored. We are granted will so many different opportunities that other countries wish they had. My favorite passage in this is, “Sitting there, with his eyes almost shut from his beating, making another American flag”. If the definition of patriotism is, the emotional connection to ones nation and country, homeland. This including, someones culture, beliefs, or ethnic background.
