The Director imaginality chooses the technique of cross-cutting to illustrate to the audience how significant this event is for Vincent and Aton. The cross-cutting shows different times and places, at the same time allowing both sides of the story to be told without the viewer becoming confused or lost within the surrounding environment and characters. The director uses this technique to provide an explanation of the events. It is very effective at helping the audience to understand why events have taken place, or the consequences of actions, or the inner thoughts of characters. In this scene cross-cutting is used to show both sides of a conversation between Vincent and Aton.

This is because the crossing-cutting occurs during Vincent's and Aton’s convention where Anton is questioning how Vincent has defeated all the odds, he says quote “how have you done any of this? Thus questioning everything around him, making the viewers realize that Vincent wasn't the one that was condemned and he saw not the one that had the traumatic childhood, it was Aton all this time it was the one that was preserved to have had everything, but still, he couldn't beat Vicent. Therefore encapsulating the main message of the film that human drive and passion is the most essential element of humanity. The film provides a positive appraisal and celebration of the human spirit. This theme of human spirit can relates to each and everyone of us, as we all have both the willpower and the passion inside of us we just have to seas it.
