Should a patient be told everything about their diagnosis and treatment? I believe patients should be told everything about their care. We all have the right to know. I would want to know. The film “Miss Evers’ Boys” provides viewers with several examples of legal and ethical violations such as residents bill of rights, patients bill of rights and the privacy act (HIPAA).
The first violation I viewed is residents bill of rights. Residents bill of rights says "patient has Free Choice regarding the physician, treatment, care and participating in research". In the movie, the men did not get a free choice to participate in the experiment. The people conducting the experiment just did it. They didn't tell them they're not going to get treatment
